Back to School 2013-2014

Well, it’s that time of year again. Summer is coming to an end, kind of a bitter sweet time. We have had so much fun this summer with visiting old friends, family, building a new house, camping, riding, Sand hollow, late nights, neighbors, and just hanging out being lazy at the pool.
School began yesterday August 14th. Everything went smooth for all the kids. Alexis and Alyssa got out the door at 7:50, and tried to have a good attitude about going back, but you know….. they are 14, school is not fun anymore!!!! They looked so cute, I couldn’t be more proud of my girls, they are just fun!
We took Sam, Burk and Sophie at 8:40, they don’t start till 9:00. They were awesome, they each got up got themselves dressed, breakfast, made their own lunches, and were done with their 30 minutes of reading before we had to take them. I was just doing good to get myself out of bed!!!! What great little ones I have! They all looked so cute and were so excited to go to school, check out their classrooms, friends and of course their new teacher!!! We got them there and all situated, the excitement in the hallways is always so much fun on the first day of school, I love it!!!!
Aspen didn’t have to be to high school till 12:00. So he ran errands in the morning, grabbed some lunch, and off he went for the day. There was not much excitement for him. I asked him if he was ready to get back to school, but his reply was…. I don’t know, it’s school mom. Dumb question I guess. I didn’t love school either!!!!
Aspen got out of school and brought the girls home with him since their schools are next door to each other, and he hurried and changed his clothes and he was off to work. Yes, Aspen has a job. He works at the Polaris dealership here in town and he puts the new machines together as they come in. I think it is hard on Aspen, he has no free time right now. School, work, homework. Not much fun, but we want to keep him busy, and teach him responsibility. I really miss not having him around though. It’s just not the same in the house without him!!!!!
When everyone was home, we got the full report on all the kids days, and they all seem to like their teachers and the classes that they have. They got to see all of their old friends from last year that they didn’t get to see over the summer. Let’s just hope positive attitudes continue, and that I can now have a cleaner house during the day!!!!!
