Lanse and Aspen's Best in the Desert Race in Parker Az.

Best in the Desert Race 2014

Lanse and Aspen did another UTV race this weekend. They did a Best in the Desert in Parker Arizona. They did great. Looks like they might have taken 7th place or so. They said that it was one of the toughest races they have done next to King of the Hammers. The race was 160 miles. We were able to see them take off at the start line and then hurried back to the pit, where we had a couple of guys that Lanse knows help them when they came in to check tires, shocks, put gas in the machine etc….. We have a radio that we are able to keep in contact with the guys while they are out racing. Little Sammy boy gets it all set up and gets right on the radio to see how his dad and brother are doing. He is constantly checking on what mile they are at, if they are ok, how's the tires, is the course rough, what ya going to need when you come in dad? Sam is so excited to see his dad and Aspen do this, the only thing that will be better to him is when he is old enough that he will get a chance to be the co-driver!!!! But for the rest of us, we love to watch Sam's excitement for his dad.
The guys pulled into the pit 2 1/2 hour after the start. They said it was so rough and hard, but we got the machine filled up again, everything double checked, and off they went again for lap 2. We took off and went to meet them at the finish line. It took them about 2 hours to do the second lap. They said it went much quicker for them. We waited and watched for them, and seen a few other UTV's come in before them. a couple pretty broken up. I was trying to figure out how a couple of them even finished!!! We do know that there were a lot of cars that didn't finish. They broke down out in the desert and had to be towed in. It wasn't long though and we were all standing there waiting and Sammy was standing up on this cement barrier and it was very quiet at the time because there were no other machine that had just come in and no one was being interviewed, and all of a sudden you see Sammy point to the tented finish line and yell "Hey, that's my dad!!!!, Here he comes!!!" Everyone looks over at us and laughed, the man up on the stage looks over at us and says "He's with you guys I guess?" We all said yes with a lot of excitement and enthusiasm. We were so excited to see Lanse and Aspen finish, their car was in perfect condition. I couldn't have been prouder of them!!!!
Way to go Guys!!!!!
