Sam turned 10 the day we moved into our house. He was excited, he was hoping we would get to move into the house on his birthday. Should have known whatever Sam wants, it seems like Sam get's!!! (haha) He had a great birthday and had lots of friends over to celebrate with him.
We had my mom here for the week of Halloween. It was so good to have her here. It was just a month after dad had passed away, so I was so glad to be with her and have her with us. I do think she missed being home to give out her treats on Halloween though. She was a little homesick I think. That same weekend we had friends from up north the Nelson's and Wilcox's come down, they brought their kids so they could all go trick or treating together which was so much fun for my kids, they have really missed their friends from up north. It is always fun to see old friends and catch up.
Thanksgiving was a fun time, we were lucky to have Lanse's Dad come down and spend it with us. We had the usual yummy turkey dinner with more food than we knew what to do with, the boys went out riding machines, they even swam in the pool on thanksgiving!!!! They played basketball, and played endless card Games. We love it when Grandpa comes and visits!!!!
Just yesterday our family was in Henderson Nevada because Lanse and Aspen was in a UTV race, The Best of the Desert. It was a fun race for them both. They took a lot of time building a race car and they had such a great time doing it together. So we ventured out to watch and support them in this race. We had to get up at 4:30 in the morning and be out at the race site and ready for them to race by 6:00am. They were all suited up and when I say suited up, it is nerve racking for me because their suits are fire suits!!! Yeah fire suits!!! Great, this is suppose to give me piece of mind right? Anyways, they did their race, a friend of ours Daryl that is our neighbor drove down also to help Lanse at the pit station. It was so fun to have him there. The boys did great!! They were in the top 10 and loved it all except for how cold it was, it was only 30 degrees and dropping by the time we left to come home!!!
That leads me to the next topic..... As you have heard on the news or internet, St. George got a heck of a winter storm!!!!! We had just gotten through Mesquite and almost to St. George when it became white. We were into a full on snow storm. Ok I thought I moved down here to avoid this kind of weather, but I thought it will be too warm and not stick long!!!! Well, we got home around 2ish in the afternoon, and got Alexis and Alyssa to their dance recital by 5:00, and it was still snowing, really sticking, but by the time we got out of the dance recital at 6:00, it was still coming down like crazy and everything was completely covered in snow and I am talking deep wonderful snowball snow!!!!!
We went out to dinner and got back home and the kids went out and had a snowball fight and loved every second of it!!!! I do have to say it looks very Christmasy.... and festive!!!! But it was only 8 degrees when we went to church this morning and everything is complete ice!!!!!
Oh, and the girls did great in their dance recital!!!!
So now that we are in December, we are trying to do the Christmas shopping, birthday shopping, the girls will be turning 15 on the 14th, and Burk will be turning 9 on the 23rd. It is crazy busy but such a fun and exciting month!!!!!
We will be having mom and my brother here on Christmas night for several days. So happy to get to spend the Holidays with them all!!!We look for to it!!
