This weekend we had the 3 older Nelson kids from up north come and visit us. Lanse met Lori in Fillmore Thursday night and brought the kids back to our house. They got here around 8:30 pm and they were all so excited. I thought for sure they would get here and jump in the pool, run outside and enjoy the hot weather, or just hang out catching up, but no, this is how it all began…..
Seriously, electronics? They ended up starting the weekend off laughing, figuring out new things on their “electronics”, and catching back up on all that they have missed together. Honestly you never would have known that they have been apart. That is the greatest thing about their friendship. They love each other and love to be together, they are all crazy, but know how to have fun!!!!
Friday, the twins had to go to their first 2 classes because they had end of year testing, so Aspen and the rest of the crew picked them up around 11:00 and off they went about their business for the day. They went to lunch together, then back to the house and swam half they day, then that night they had more friends from around here come over and they played night games and just hung out. Not sure what time they decided to close their eyes, but I am sure it was wee hours in the morning!!!!!
Saturday we hung around the house and swam and got a lot of sun. The Nelson kids couldn't go back up north like glow worms, so we made sure to give them some color!!! They all ended up going to SWIG to get drinks and sugar cookies, and just doing a lot of nothing. I didn't know until later in the afternoon that Lanse Confiscated all electronics earlier that morning. I think all the kids were going through with drawls. They were lost and didn't know what to do! But the did figure out how to cope and deal without a devise in their hands!
Sunday we took the kids up to the red rocks and let them hang out and explore the slot canyons. They had a ball. We came back had a BBQ, and as always, good things must come to and end. We took the kids back up to Fillmore to meet Lori. It was a sad goodbye, but also a good one knowing that they will all be together at the Nelson’s house in July for EFY.
We love our Nelson’s and their friendship, it means the world to us all. We will see you all in July!!!!!
