The 2013 Rally on the Rocks was amazing this year. We had around 200-250 more participants this year than last. We figured there were around 650 participants total, 200 more people between vendors, trail guides, and office staff. It was crazy. Grand total of 850-900!!!! What an amazing job Lanse and Jared did. They are so organized and put this event together so well.
We went to Moab on Sunday the 12 of May, and started to set up, the vendors started to arrive on Monday. Lexi, Lyssi, me, Aspen, Sam, Jared’s Dad Dave, his brother Jason and another girl that Jared knows, Danni, ran the office doing sign ups, registration, selling misc. items, popping popcorn, answering as many questions as we could, while Aspen and Jared’s Dad Dave, did all the trail signups. Lanse and Jared ran all over the place helping whoever needed help and answering everyones questions, holding guide meetings every morning, driver’s meetings every morning, getting everyone headed in the right direction for the trail line ups each morning. We had a couple of neighbors come down Wednesday and help us out in the office and whenever we could use them. And boy did we use them. We are so grateful for good friends and neighbors. It was insane.
We filled the Arena inside and out with vendors selling everything you can imagine for sidexside machines. They are great vendors and they all made this event a success. we had several of the dealers doing demo rides on our demo track there at the arena with thier machines. The vendors put alot into helping us make the Rally fun and exciting, we really appreciate them.
We had participants there from 22 different states and 1 from Canada, and 1 from Mexico.
We had my dad there this year, and Lanse’s dad made it there from up north. It was so fun to have them both there to really see what the Rally is all about. I think they enjoyed it.
The first night after the riders came in, we had an Ice Cream social, the second night we had a Show-n-Shine and movie at dusk.(amazing), third night we had a catered dinner from Pasta Jay’s there in Moab, and the grand raffle. It was crazy busy and crowded, but alot of excitement in the air.
Saturday morning after we got the riders off to their trails, we started to break camp down, packing up the office, taking down banners, ect. Then later that afternoon, my dad and the girls and myself headed home for a very long tiring drive. The boys came home on Sunday. We are all exhausted, but are happy we did the Rally. It is always a fun time.
