First Thanksgiving in St. George

The Turkey center piece Sam Made!

It was our families very first Thanksgiving in St. George. Really? Almost 70 degrees? It was unreal!! I would have never of thought it was the end of November. The weather is great!!!!!
So having to do Thanksgiving by ourselves without my mom to do most the work or my Inlaws doing most the work, made me totally appreciate them all. Thanksgiving is really alot of work preparing all this food, and it is eaten up within 30 or so minutes. I just wanted to tell my family they had to chew each bit 100 times so that they would enjoy it and it would last for a few minutes!
It was fun this year though, we had dinner at our house, and we had my dad and his wife here to enjoy with us. I dont remember the last Thanksgiving I had with my Dad!!! It was fun, but really noisy and loud for them I think. We loved having them with us!!!!!!
As always, the kids got thier usual "New Holiday P.J.'s", the kids always look forward to this tradition. Then we decided that since we live in St. George and the weather is fabulous, that when it got dark, we hooked the projector up, our chairs, blankets and Hot Cocoa, and watched our usual thanksgiving night movie "Polar Express" outside on the back patio. What a fun new tradition this will be. (Ok, so I did get a little cold and had to come in after the movie and take a hot soak in my tub to get warm!)

Today being Thanksgiving, makes me think of all the things I am thankful for. My family, Lanse's family, our children and how much fun they are. I am so thankful for Lanse and for the kind of father that he is, and for loving me and having to put up with me, I know it is tough some days, or most days I should say! I am so thankful for my families health and for our bodies allowing us to do the things that we love and enjoy when I see others around me that are not so fortunate. Our family is very blessed, and I am thankful for that!

That looks like a pretty fun tradition to start.
