Grandma Jill's visit

Our family friends Brent and Linda Olsen called mom and said that they were coming down to Mesquite to stay for a few days for Brents Birthday and wanted to know if Mom would like to ride down with them and they would drop her off at our house and pick her up and drive her home a few days later. Well, we sure were excited!!! The only downfall was that Dad was not going to be able to come down with them. Mom really needed a break and we wanted to be able to go shopping and out to lunch and with dad here we knew that was not going to be possible. Mom put Dad in a care center for the few days that she was going to be here. She had such a hard time doing this. She has never left him or been away from him, so this was not an easy thing for her to do.
When Mom arrived at our home, it was so wonderful to see her. It made me realize how much I have missed her. She was so happy to see us all, but in her heart she was so sad not to have dad here with her. She just cried when she told me of the night before when she took him to the home and how awful it was and how confussed he must have been. This is something she will never do again. No matter what, when she comes down to visit, he will come with her for now on!
We had a great visit with her, and did lots of fun shopping that we have not done in so long, went to lunch, the twins skipped school the one day and spent it with us! It made Grandma's day! We had lots of laughs, and caught up on time missed.
Grandma helped Alyssa with her purse she is trying to sew. It is not a very good pattern, so they struggled, but they got alot of it done. She played games with the kids, and loved LuLu! LuLu loves grandma. Every morning she would be sitting at the casita door waiting for Grandma to come out. I think she is a little sad now that she has gone home!
The morning came for mom to leave, it was such a sad morning, but I know she was ready to go home and pick  up dad. I am sure he was ready too. The visits from mom and dad are so special to me, I realize how much I love and appreciate them and miss all the special moments I have had with them. They mean the world to  me. I really miss them!

I am so glad to hear that your mother was able to come visit! When I talked to you last you were not certain if she was going to be able to make it! How difficult for you and your family to not have Grandpa there as well! :( We love and miss you guys! We still need to plan something soon!!!

Love,
The Nelsons (and Chief Chrispy who is a Nelson by default)
