Christmas at the Chournos'

Well, Christmas came and went very fast this year. It was all new to us, and we were not sure how we would being this was our first Christmas away from home.
I think there was a lot of mix emotions from everyone in our house. We miss all of our Grandpa's, Grandma's, Aunt's, Uncle's and Cousin's, and our friends. All of the traditions we have had all our lives were different this year.
We had a wonderful prime rib dinner prepared by Lanse, and had Grandpa and Grandma Craner over. It was our very first Christmas with them. I don't think I have had a Christmas with my Dad since I was a little girl. It was alot of fun. I am sure very Chaotic for them though.
Christmas morning the kids all woke up at 4:00 am. They at least gave Lanse and I until 4:30. (wasn't that nice of them?) They opened all their gifts and had everything unwrapped in 1 hour, and it took me 2 days to wrap (Not fair) . Christmas morning, Sophie, Lanse and myself woke up sick with a awful cold, Grandpa & Grandma Craner came over for a couple of hours, Aspen took on Grandpa on the Wii, not sure, but I think it was a close race!
All of us just kind of hung out all day, played games and tried to get feeling better.
I called home to my mom and dad, to find them horribly sick also and they had to skip all Christmas parties, and we all alone. It broke my heart to not be there for them.
It was different for us to be in fairly good weather, cold, and kind of rainy, but palm trees and totally different scenery. As we made calls home on Christmas Eve and Christmas day, we couldn't believe the snow everyone was getting. We were jealous because we have wanted a white Christmas for so long and the fist year we move away, it is a white Christmas!
Our Christmas vacation week has been long, almost all the kids have come down with colds and I am still trying to get past mine. Let's hope it is gone by New Years!!
We miss everyone and hope all of you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
